The knife that Sahil used to kill Sakshi in the Shahbad Dairy region of Delhi has been found.

NEW DELHI: The accused, Sahil Khan, called Sakshi several times a day prior to the incident, according to the inquiry into the horrible murder of Sakshi, 16, in Delhi on Sunday. These calls were placed on WhatsApp as well as the cell network. At 3:41 on Saturday, one of the calls lasted 40 minutes.

Sources within the investigation claimed that Sahil was making desperate attempts to win Sakshi back into a relationship through these phone conversations. The young man admitted to interrogators that during these chats, he physically assaulted Sakshi and threatened to harm her. These calls contributed to the situation's deterioration as well, forcing Sakshi to contact her friends Jhabru and Bhavna for assistance.

Around nine o'clock on Saturday night, Jhabru phoned Sahil to Shahbad Dairy and threatened him with dire consequences if he didn't leave Sakshi alone. The accused reported that Jhabru and Sakshi verbally abused him and threatened him with a gun that police believe to be a toy. In addition to Sakshi and her two companions, there were a few more people there. 24 hours later, Sahil beat and stabbed Sakshi to death after feeling embarrassed and enraged.

Sakshi's post-mortem revealed 16 deep stab wounds and as many slashes besides several blunt impact injuries caused by bludgeoning her head with a concrete block. The cause of death was determined to be ‘haemorrhagic shock owing to multiple injuries on the body’.

Eleven injuries, individually or collectively, could have caused her death. “Her left lung had collapsed and the loops of intestines were protruding from the body. There was a deep incision on the left side of the abdomen,” the report said.

Because Sakshi belongs to the SC community, the police will additionally cite laws of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

A knife that Sahil purchased in Hardwar two weeks before to the murder has been identified as the murder weapon. After June 3, when the murder weapon has been found and he has been questioned, his police custody could no longer be needed.

Additionally, Sakshi's acquaintances were questioned by the police regarding the altercation on Saturday night, and their responses were recorded. Police have also interrogated three of Sahil's pals, including the man who was seen chatting with him on the CCTV tape just prior to Sakshi's attack.
